Saturday evening we attended the Christmas parade in the small town of Keenesburg, Colorado that we are currently staying in. I love small town Christmas activities. They’re never very extravagant or flashy and they usually don’t last all that long. But the focus is on family and community and the reason for Christmas is still at the forefront of the festivities.

Hot Lasses with Homemade Whipped Cream

I mentioned back in this post that I recently discovered how delicious molasses is! Now that I know this, I’ve been trying it in many new ways. I love a nice cup of hot cocoa in the winter time. Nothing beats a cold winter day with a hot mug in your hands. In light of my new found love of molasses, I decided to try skipping the cocoa and try molasses instead. Oh my, it is so good!

Thanksgiving was a cold one for us here in Colorado. We woke up bright and early to snow on the ground and a freezing fog blanketing the air all around us. We packed up our food, packed up our dogs and headed to our friends’ house to have a fun and delicious Thanksgiving dinner.
